Shop Sweet July: Inside Our Oakland Flagship Store

OPEN NOW IN OAKLAND

Located on “The Block”–a retail strip known for its community of Black female-owned businesses including McMullenGoodBody and Brown Sugar KitchenSweet July’s flagship store is Ayesha’s love letter to Oakland, and a hub for the self and home. Our airy oasis fuses modern and rustic sensibilities, including industrial touches and custom woodwork. The shop stocks our private-label home goods and lifestyle products, a selection of Ayesha’s favorite books, and a curated edit of emerging lifestyle brands by creators of color. Offering functional, feel-good buys to help you channel positivity, Ayesha’s vision for the store was birthed from a personal place.

“Sweet July came about as a feeling of happiness for me, a time when all the things that are good in my life happened.”
Ayesha Curry

Our on-site coffee bar sells light bites and our custom brew cultivated by women growers.

At Sweet July we value the stories behind the makers just as much as the products, which is why we’ve researched and tested premium buys with impeccable quality, but are devoted to bringing these unique offerings to you at an affordable price.

THE PERFECT NEW SHOP

Our brick-and-mortar store and e-commerce shop are an extension of Ayesha’s “Sweet July” magazine, which encourages readers to find moments of joy, gratitude, love and inspiration every day. “‘Sweet July’ is a feeling of happiness for me, a time when all the things that are good in my life happened,” Ayesha explains. “My hope is to encourage everyone to find their own version of Sweet July. It’s a feeling, a thought, a phrase, and I hope it will become a movement.”

Come visit our fully stocked café, which sells small bites like croissants, cookies and Ayesha’s signature bread pudding. These can be paired with our house blend coffee and teas, also available in store. Those who aren’t local to the area can experience our custom brews by ordering our SJ coffee and teas online.

Oakland plant sanctuary Blk Girls Green House– a community respite birthed as a means of healing amid the turbulence of 2020–outfitted our retail space with lush greenery meant to thrive in the environment while creating zen vibes.

“My hope is to encourage everyone to find their own version of Sweet July. It’s a feeling, a thought, a phrase, and I hope it will become a movement.”
