It’s no surprise that we love a good margarita here at Sweet July. This version infuses a punch of sweet, herbaceous flavor using an unconventional ingredient, our Sweet Mornings Tea.
The combination of hibiscus flowers and elderberries is what gives this drink it’s beautiful red color and a bright floral finish. Sip on this with our Grilled Shrimp & Garden Gazpacho for the perfect summer meal.
2 bags of Sweet Mornings tea
1/2 oz agave
3/4 oz lime juice
1 1/2 oz blanco tequila
Salt (for rim)
Steep two tea bags in ¾ cup of hot water for 30 minutes (or until the tea has cooled to room temperature).
- In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, mix 2 ounces of tea, agave, lime juice and tequila. Shake until the outside of the shaker is frosty and you can run your finger through it. Strain into a salt-rimmed glass. Garnish with lime wedges or candied ginger.
